First Visit

Your initial visit to our office is very important to us. It gives us the opportunity to get to know each other and determine what you hope to accomplish with your smile. One of our trained staff members will greet you and give you an office tour highlighting what sets us apart. For your first visit, please take time to complete the patient information form, which is available below or in the packet sent to you. By completing this form prior to your arrival, we can begin your first visit without delay. The doctor will first review your medical history and address your concerns. A complimentary digital panorex is usually taken. This x-ray shows all the teeth on one film and is different from the x-rays taken at your general dentist. It allows the doctor to give you better information on you or your child's teeth. A thorough oral exam and review of the panorex will enable the doctor to give you his professional recommendations regarding your orthodontic care (what type of treatment, if any, is needed; when it would start; how long treatment will be; etc.). Your dentist is part of your dental team, so we will also communicate with him or her regarding our treatment recommendations for you.

Call to schedule your complimentary exam today. We REWARD for referrals, so tell your friends and family about us.

Regular Appointments

The appointment(s) when you get your appliances (braces, expanders, etc.) usually takes from 45-90 minutes. You'll then see us at regular intervals 6 to 10 weeks apart for an adjustment, which takes 20 to 30 minutes. Our regular office hours are:

  • Mon: 8:00 am to 5:30 pm
  • Tues: 8:30 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Wed: 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
  • Thurs: 8:30 am to 6:00 pm
  • Fri: 8:30 am to 12:00 pm

We have worked extremely hard to create a schedule that is fair to everyone. Many of the office visits will inevitably conflict with work or school. In order to balance the need for regular appointments with the need to minimize missed school and work hours, we have designed our office schedule to accomplish the following:

  • Most regular adjustments can be done after school, however to be fair to everyone we ask that every other appointment be made during the school/work day. This arrangement usually results in patients having to visit our office only 3-4 times per year during school hours.
  • We want to see each patient at the time of his or her scheduled appointment. Your time is valuable and it should not be wasted sitting in our reception room.
  • We want to have enough time at each appointment to do the necessary adjustment, plan the next visit, discuss treatment progress and answer any questions.
  • We will schedule longer appointments during school and work hours and shorter appointments before and after school and work.

Appointment Reminders

  • Our office provides email/text message appointment reminders 2 days before your scheduled appointment.
  • You also have the option to check your appointment date and time by using this website. Patients must register first before accessing this information.
  • In the event of power outages or computer problems, we recommend keeping your appointment reminder slip.

Emergency Appointments

  • Please call our office if you have any problems or concerns.
  • Problems are anything that pokes, scratches, cuts, or causes pain that you cannot take care of yourself.
  • Broken brackets and appliances also need to be repaired as soon as possible. Please don't wait until your regular visit to let us know. There probably won't enough time in the schedule to repair it in your normal visit.
  • See our braces diagram to determine the part of your braces that is causing the problem. This will help significantly when calling our office for assistance.

    Payment & Insurance

Dr. Rheude does not want finances to stand in the way of you pursuing a beautiful smile. The cost of treatment depends on the severity of the patient's problem. We will discuss fees and payment options before treatment begins. We have payment plans to suit different budgets, including a no-down-payment option. We offer finance free payment plans, and also accept assignment from most insurance companies. We work hard to make orthodontics affordable.

We offer the following financial options for your convenience:

    • Discount for paying in full
    • Interest free monthly payments with 0% down (18 months or less)
    • Zero down flexible payment plans over 18months with approved credit (Care Credit)
    • Family discounts
    • Most major credit cards accepted (direct debit available)
    • Insurance billing

Our treatment coordinator will be happy to explain all the financial options to you and work with you on customizing payment plan that fits your individual needs.

Our office is a fee-for-service practice and does not usually contract with dental insurance plans. For our patients who have traditional orthodontic insurance, we accept assignment from most plans and will take care of all insurance billings. Keep in mind that any amount not paid of the estimated insurance benefit is the insured's responsibility.

In cases of serious delinquency, treatment may be discontinued. We will make every effort to accommodate patients with temporary difficulties.
